The Springfield Celts Rugby Football Club (RFC) was founded in 1975 by a handful of dedicated guys who wanted to bring rugby to Springfield. Some had played college rugby and others had played higher end men's club rugby. Together with some of their friends who had never even seen a rugby ball they formed the Springfield Celts without even having a full team of 15. Over the years The Celts have seen their highs and lows. Many winning seasons of the 80's & 90's, with a mixture of some years without enough players to even field a side. Through it all, The Celts have survived. The green jersey has been a feared icon over the decades and is now growing strong again.
